Mutton Curry
Ingredients:
- For the Mutton Curry:
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chilies, slit (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
- Water (as needed)
- For the Rice:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 1 bay leaf (optional)
Instructions:
For the Mutton Curry:
- Heat Oil: In a large pot, heat oil or ghee over medium heat.
- Sauté Onions: Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add Spices: Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Tomatoes: Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and oil starts to separate.
- Add Mutton: Add the mutton pieces and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, ensuring they’re well coated with the spices.
- Spice it Up: Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
