Here’s a recipe for making Supangle, a rich and delicious Turkish chocolate pudding dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 liter milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 80 grams dark chocolate (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cake or brownie crumbs (optional, for the base)
Instructions
- Prepare the base (optional):
- Place cake or brownie crumbs at the bottom of your serving cups. This is optional but adds a nice texture to the dessert.
- Mix dry ingredients:
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, flour, cornstarch, and cocoa powder until well combined.
- Add wet ingredients:
- Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
- Add the egg yolk and continue whisking.
- Cook the mixture:
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, continuing to stir.
- Add chocolate and butter:
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the butter, chopped dark chocolate, and vanilla extract until everything is melted and well combined.
- Add water:
- Gradually add the water and whisk until the mixture is smooth and has a pudding-like consistency.
- Pour and chill:
- Pour the mixture over the cake or brownie crumbs in the serving cups, or directly into the cups if not using crumbs.
- Let the supangle cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until set.
- Serve:
- Serve chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream, nuts, or chocolate shavings.
Enjoy your delicious homemade Supangle!
