Garlic Bread Pizza Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Garlic Bread:
- 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Pizza Toppings:
- 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Garlic Bread:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread loaf in half lengthwise.
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Place the bread halves, cut side up, on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the butter is absorbed.
- Assemble the Pizza:
- Remove the garlic bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Spread an even layer of pizza sauce or marinara sauce over the garlic bread.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Add any additional toppings you like (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.).
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the toppings.
- Bake the Pizza:
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the assembled garlic bread pizzas back in the oven.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are crispy.
- Serve:
- Remove the pizzas from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil if desired.
