Decadent Chocolate Chip Pancakes Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Optional Toppings:
- Whipped cream
- Maple syrup
- Fresh berries
- Chocolate syrup
- Powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Add Chocolate Chips:
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Heat the Griddle:
- Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
- Cook the Pancakes:
- For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges start to look set, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the pancake and cook until the other side is golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.
- Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the griddle as needed.
- Serve:
- Serve the pancakes warm, topped with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, maple syrup, fresh berries, chocolate syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
Tips:
- To keep pancakes warm while cooking the rest of the batter, place them on a baking sheet in a 200°F (93°C) oven.
- For extra fluffy pancakes, let the batter rest for about 5 minutes before cooking.
- If you prefer a sweeter pancake, increase the sugar to 2 tablespoons.
Enjoy your decadent chocolate chip pancakes!
