Ingredients:
- For the marinade:
- 1 lb (450g) chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- For the chow mein:
- 8 oz (225g) chow mein noodles
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup bean sprouts (optional)
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions:
- Marinate the chicken:
- In a bowl, combine the chicken, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Prepare the noodles:
- Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the chicken:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until it is cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Cook the vegetables:
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the onion and garlic, and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
