Blackened Steak and Shrimp Alfredo
Ingredients
For the Blackened Seasoning:
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
For the Steak and Shrimp:
- 2 ribeye steaks or your preferred cut
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
For the Alfredo Sauce:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Pasta:
- 1 lb fettuccine or your preferred pasta
Instructions
- Prepare the Blackened Seasoning:
- Mix all the ingredients for the blackened seasoning in a bowl.
- Prepare the Steak:
- Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel.
- Rub a generous amount of the blackened seasoning onto both sides of the steaks.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until your desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
- Prepare the Shrimp:
- Toss the shrimp in the remaining blackened seasoning.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter.
- Cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep the sauce warm on low heat.
- Cook the Pasta:
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Assemble the Dish:
- Slice the rested steaks into thin strips.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the Alfredo sauce until well coated.
- Divide the pasta among serving plates.
- Top each plate with slices of blackened steak and a few shrimp.
- Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley, if desired.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
Tips
- Ensure the skillet is hot before adding the steak and shrimp to achieve a nice sear.
- For a richer Alfredo sauce, you can add more Parmesan cheese.
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper in the seasoning if you prefer less heat.
