Avocado, Mozzarella, and Tomato Grilled Cheese Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough, whole grain, etc.)
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1-2 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 4-6 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1-2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: fresh basil leaves, balsamic glaze
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Slice the avocado, tomato, and mozzarella.
- Season the tomato slices with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Lay out the slices of bread.
- On one slice, layer the avocado slices, followed by the tomato slices.
- Add the mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes.
- If using, add fresh basil leaves on top of the mozzarella.
- Place the second slice of bread on top to close the sandwich.
- Butter the Bread:
- Spread butter evenly on the outer sides of both slices of bread.
- Grill the Sandwich:
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve:
- Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.
- If desired, drizzle with balsamic glaze for added flavor.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
